Coffee Ad?

Here's a quick sketch that I did during a sketching / drawing session at Peet's coffee. Love their gingerbread ice coffee. Maybe I'll work on this sketch some more and turn it into a coffee ad or something.

The Hunchback

This should have been finished days ago, but I was sick with the flu....so here's my third photoshop piece. I guess its little early for Halloween art, but I liked my Hunchback character sketch and decided to finish him.

Tumbleweed Riley

So here's my second piece done on Photoshop. This started off as a shape drawing exercise, but I liked the design of the character so I painted it. One of these days I need to invest in a wacom pad, since this was done with a mouse. :OP

I'll also try to post more often rather once a month.

I usually paint my pieces with watercolors and gouache, but I decided to give photoshop a shot. So here's the Mad Clown sketch done in photoshop.

Sorry for the lack of posts- I've been lazy and I went to NYC a couple of days ago. Here are 2 pages of heads-probably my last because I'm getting bored with this topic. I'll probably start doodling animals or something in this new sketchbook that I have. I bought a micron pen set, so I'll start inking these suckers. I normally use a Rapidiograph Pen, but its a hassle cleaning and changing the nibs. I'll stop rambling and post the pages:

New Scanner and sketches

Well I finally got off my lazy arse and installed my new scanner. Well temp scanner...there's a large Epson scanner I have my eye on but its a bit $$$$$, so this small scanner will have to do for now. Anyways....here are some sketches:

This last sketch is some strange sketch I did at Starbucks...I have no idea why I drew this weird viking guy with a tree branch and a hanger coming out of his viking helmet. Madness..

I currently have no access to a scanner, hence the lack of updates, but I'll be getting one this week.  Will start posting again soon.

Jim Henson's Fantastic World

I went to see the exhibit on Jim Henson at the National Heritage Museum in Lexington on Tuesday. I definitely recommend anyone living in MA to go see this exhibit. They have bunch of his sketches, video clips of commercials that he did, and some of the puppets. Great stuff.

I'm currently trying to find a better color scheme to this blog that reflects the main website...so everything is in flux. I'll be posting new work soon--it would also help if I wasn't having Drawers Block :OP

Last Sunday, I went to MIT to see the Tamagawa University Taiko & Dance group perform. I've seen taiko drumming on Youtube but this was my first time actually seeing a live performance. The show was incredible. Here is a scan of the program's cover and pics that I took of the performance.

Teeth vs Food

I finally got off my lazy butt and uploaded some scans to my computer. Here are some examples of my Teeth period and Food period.

End of my "Teeth Period"?

Picasso had his blue, rose, etc period. For a couple of months now, I've been drawing faces/characters with messed up teeth. I mean really F***ed up teeth. But now everything has changed. I think I'm entering a "Food Period" now. Yes "food Period". On 3 separate days I've drawn food...so Picasso...you can have your blue, rose, etc periods....I have my teeth and now my food period.
